When the waves approach
only three choices
Ride them
Slip under to let them pass
or
Get pummeled.
Alas
I don’t always know which to choose
until it’s too late
making mistakes in plain site

Haha, I like that one…I am hopeless at waves too!

Waves scare me. I would rather stand on the beach and scream…The watchers may have a few choices too. This slice could be about a bigger theme… just thinking.

Experience has taught you three recognizable options. Maybe that’s the trick, *we* don’t always get to choose.

Love this! What a strong metaphor for life. I am never sure which option to choose, but I have learned how not to get pummeled as much as I use to.

Agree with others about this life metaphor. Waves are unavoidable; it’s what we do with them.

Ah, and then the pummeling comes, doesn’t it? I remember those three choices when I was a child swimming in the Pacific in California. I did like reading it metaphorically too.
